Like many of you, I know how frustrating it is to have chronic symptoms that the medical system doesn’t have answers for. To be told that there’s nothing wrong, and therefore nothing you can do, because all of your test results are normal. To have your symptoms dismissed as insignificant, because you don’t meet the criteria for a diagnosis.
I know this because I’ve lived it. But I also know that reversing chronic illness is possible, despite these obstacles. And I want the outcome that I experienced for everyone with chronic illness, which is why I founded Quantify.
Our approach to reversing chronic illness is predicated on three components—comprehensive evaluation, natural therapies, and accountability—that enable us to achieve significant, often life-changing results for our members, many of whom had been suffering for years, or even decades, and had exhausted all conventional options.
Comprehensive evaluation
Our core philosophy, informed by my experience, is that having access to the right tests is a precondition to reversing chronic illness. Without knowing that Epstein-Barr virus, mercury toxicity, vitamin B12 deficiency, or gluten sensitivity, for example, are causing symptoms, these factors will remain unaddressed, and symptoms will persist.
A cause-focused, data-driven approach is thus the foundation from which we operate. We test for parasites, bacteria, fungi, viruses, metals, chemicals, food sensitivities, hormones, organic acids, and micronutrients, via saliva, blood, urine, and stool, to identify underlying factors that could contribute to compromised health. All of our tests are performed by labs in the United States that are certified to meet Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) quality standards. All biomarkers tested are clinically validated. And, to make testing more accessible, sample collection, for saliva, urine, and stool tests, can be conducted at home.
Natural therapies
Our strategy for resolving symptoms, once the causes have been identified, is based on the premise that chronic symptoms are a manifestation of dysfunction in organs and systems in the body, which in turn is a manifestation of the presence of abnormal factors, such as infections, toxicities, deficiencies, and imbalances, that disrupt an otherwise homeostatic state.
Addressing the specific factors underlying dysfunction is thus our primary focus, while our secondary focus is on optimizing the overall health of the system, to create an environment conducive to the restoration of homeostasis.
We’ve found that evidence-based natural therapies—diet, supplements, exercise, sleep, and stress reduction—are the most effective approach to both address the causes of dysfunction and improve overall health. Whereas medication can provide short-term relief, suppressing symptoms isn’t an effective strategy for long-term health, in our view, given that medication doesn’t target the causes of dysfunction, but rather artificially modulates the biochemical processes that lead to symptoms, often not without causing further dysfunction.
The natural therapies we recommend, to address dysfunction and improve health, are determined by the abnormal test results of our members in the context of their medical history, symptoms, and health goals. By using data to create personalized health plans, our members experience significant improvement or complete resolution of their chronic symptoms, while the conventional, one-size-fits-all approach is only palliative.
Accountability
Chronic illness is complex, the causes of which unique to every individual, and identifying the infections, toxicities, deficiencies, and imbalances underlying symptoms is only helpful to the extent that these factors can be addressed. Just as symptoms often don’t manifest overnight, but rather develop slowly due to compounding factors and the resulting dysfunction in organs and systems, recovery is also a process that takes time, and to implement and sustain a healing strategy requires an unwavering commitment to the process, however challenging it might be.
The effectiveness of our approach is thus contingent on the ability of our members to stay committed to their health plan, so each member works closely with a health coach, for accountability and support. Our members invariably experience peaks and valleys, as they make unprecedented changes in their lives, and having someone to celebrate their successes, or to help them get back on track, can make all the difference.
Our unique approach
These three components—comprehensive evaluation, natural therapies, and accountability—together form the foundation of chronic illness reversal. We know this because we’ve seen it.
We’ve seen a member reverse their chronic fatigue, for example, by eliminating certain foods from their diet that were causing an immune reaction. We’ve seen a member reverse their joint pain by addressing a gastrointestinal infection that was causing systemic inflammation. We’ve seen a member reverse their hypertension, and get off their medication, by addressing a magnesium deficiency that was causing increased cortisol production. We’ve seen how effective our approach is, and how ineffective the conventional approach is.
By identifying the causes of our members’ symptoms with advanced biomarker tests, addressing the causes with targeted natural therapies, and providing accountability and support as they navigate to better health, our members are able to reverse chronic illness, and get their lives back, often despite being told by specialists that their conditions were irreversible.
